Oh wow, remember when doll's houses were a decent size and didn't take up an entire room?! 😯

I think this challenge would be really cool in reverse too, i.e. building a house in sims 4 and trying to recreate it as close as possible in the previous games

I’m a little bit worried about how crazy the house in the sims 3 is gonna look. James will probably go crazy with create a style 😂

TS2 was such a jump from TS1 that as a kid I had literal dreams about it before it came out. And I vividly remember that one dream even though I'm in my late 20s - it was about being able to build basements (gasp) and zooming all the way on the sims and seeing every detail of them (gasp!). And then at school we had heated discussions about how "sims will have to actually learn recipes before they can cook anything!" and how hard surely the game will be! They were very, very fun times :D TS1 was my first sims game, but TS2 will forever have a huge place in my heart, because it was such a great part of my childhood (and such a great game! Only love for TS2.)

This could almost be a game of telephone, where someone builds a house in the Sims 1, then another builds and interprets it in the Sims 2, then again for the Sims 3 and 4, and in the end you compare the Sims 4 house to the original one

The way the roof at the back doesn't join with the rest drives me slightly insane but hey, I can't even build a box in sims 2 without crying

I prefer the system in The Sims 3, but I will accept the swatch system from The Sims 2. The fact that a door frame is separate from its glass panel is just utterly superb compared to The Sims 4. I also miss the days where you could paint the foundation. I've played The Sims 1–3, but I haven't really played with The Sims 4.

The dollhouses in sims 2 were soo much smaller and better than sims4, why do they make everything so darn big? 😂 anyway I’m glad you included the whole build and decorating because it’s safe to say we love your videos. 💙👍🏼

In my memory the Sims 2 is kind of, still, the perfect game and I have so many great memories of the game and my sims and I felt like the options were unlimited, the sky is the limit and such - then my computer died and I stopped playing Sims altogether and skipped S3 until I started playing the Sims 4 last march and by now, seeing this, I think the build mode would make me absolutely furious :D the Sims 4 build mode really is SO much easier and user friendly. By now I probably would flip my table if I had to rebuild the whole lot because of one tile because I am used to just grab the whole lot anf move it over.
And there is so much more furniture in the Sims 4. Were there really so few fridges in the Sims 2?!?

One thing I really miss from TS2 & TS3 was a way to make my own worlds and place lots where I wanted them. I always played worlds I built.

It's so much fun seeing the little differences in build and buy modes through the years. We really are spoiled with Sims 4 build tools... Except for the color swatches, of course. You are 100% right, they should've copied the Sims 2 color tool at the very least for things like beds, sofas and paintings. Also: how sweet are the animations in Sims 2? We got like 1 min. of the Renrut family and we got two super cute moments. I swear those sims felt more alive...

"And then the rug was kinda like this, but bigger, and not like that at all"
🤣😂classic

DOLLHOUSE TIP: In the Sims 4, you can scale down the dollhouse and it will still work because they technically don’t play with the dollhouse. They play with the dolls in front of it. Enjoy xx 🙂

Ok, I think you should try building a house in sims 4 first, and back it up each generation to see how different it is!

You know, a pack like Dream Home Decorator would have been a *perfect* opportunity to reintroduce Sims 2 style swatches (recolouring different parts of the object). Sigh. Yet another missed opportunity...

This one was such a delight to watch, Sims 2 is the game I played most of the Sims games & I have the most memories with so it was nice seeing this, brought me back. It's still my favorite of the Sims games. One thing I do recall is that like every lot I placed, it ended up on uneven land so I remember flattening it out like almost every time I went in for a build which was annoying to do but younger me also sucked at doing builds so maybe having the different elevations was a good thing? I just remember not liking it back when I was a teenager playing the game. Still, loved placing the lots, when I first played the Sims 3, I thought you could still do that & was ticked off that it wouldn't let me. I always would move my family to the lot first, do the motherlode cheat for Sims 2 & later, rosebud for Sims 1, & then have all the money I want to use to build what I liked. It was weird, it wouldn't even let me move a new family to an empty lot in the Sims 3 but like I think it was just me being dumb or something. The second game will always be my favorite & I liked how you brought this house into the second game although I wish there could of been tile in the kitchen, oh well.

I think you should be able to take a few creative liberties when moving between games! rather than trying to exactly recreate your first build and limiting yourself to the tools in ts1
