Saudi Arabia has begun negotiations with Turkey for the acquisition of 100 Kaan fifth-generation fighter jets, marking a significant shift in the kingdom's defense strategy. This deal follows years of efforts to diversify defense procurement sources, as Saudi Arabia has been unable to secure F-35 jets from the U.S. The Kaan jets, developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries, offer advanced features such as stealth capabilities, AESA radar, and a range of 1,100 kilometers. This agreement would also involve joint production and technology transfer, aligning with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 to build a self-sufficient defense industry. This growing defense relationship with Turkey signals a major transformation in regional defense dynamics.

They are not 5th generation. They use F16 engines and have no stealth coating. Thge Turks copied the layout of the F22 and called it 5th gen. The French Rafale is better and it is 4.5 gen.
