I remember seeing that bridge for the first time on the first episode of season 1 back when I was a kid. I was mesmerized. Something so special, familiar, modern and futuristic. I could picture myself sitting at a station, working along side these wonderful people, exploring the stars and living the best comfortable life. I miss these days.

God the Enterprise D interiors looked so... comfortable to me as a kid. I would imagine myself on there, going to work. Safe in deep space, the walls, the doors, the _carpets.._ Beige.
Seeing it now still soothes me.

I'm very happy to have visited the Las Vegas star trek experience and see the incredibly accurate enterprise bridge replica in person . God I miss that place !

The fold out bed function was disabled by Doctor Crusher to make sure Picard actually went to his quarters for some proper sleep at some point. I jest but that's totally an unused script idea from somewhere around Seasons 1 and 2

On TOS any sets featuring pipes, the pipes were labeled GNDN followed by a number the prefix meaning: Goes Nowhere, Does Nothing.

Thanks Marcus, and the TEAM at TrekCulture for giving us fans this interesting look at something we may not have known.

And know we are all tapping glass screens to watch and interact with this video

The buttons doing nothing...it may also be a nod to the GNDN button sets of TOS...and GNDN was an acronym for "Goes Nowhere, Does Nothing"! 😆😆😆😆😆

The neat thing with that dedication plaque having the staff names was so cool...and it's also shown in the TNG Technical Manual.

Here's another secret for you: they didn't just update the main bridge set between seasons 1 and 2, they actually moved the set to an entirely different building. They disassembled the whole thing on Paramount stage 6 and rebuilt it on Paramount stage 8.

"The buttons do nothing" is a secret? Are you kidding me? What do you wanna tell me next? That Star Trek is fictional?

Denise Crosby did an awesome job for both Tasha Jar and Commander Sela.

Does the bridge crew have to ask permission from Picard to leave station & go to the head or can they just up & go? These are important questions.

The stations behind the tactical were omni modular use. They could be configured to pull up any needed station for the mission. It was probably Patrick Stewart who stole the command chairs.

I'm a little surprised they didn't go with the balcony. What better way to show that a situation was serious than by having yet another random crew member get yeeted over the railing when their console exploded?

Imagine interviewing these higher ups and you ask, "How do you think they stole the chairs?" And they look you dead on the eye and with the most serious voice you've ever heard in your life they say, "It was an inside job..."

If memory serves the view screen was actually the entrance to the set. Also I'm pretty sure that in the ready room that alcove between the replicator and Livingstons tank was the captains bathroom

Even though the buttons on the Okuda-grams did absolutely nothing and had nonsensical labels, actors who sat or stood at specific consoles consistently, like Worf, Data, or Crusher, would invent real patterns that they would perform in order to "execute" a specific command.

When I saw the fold-out bed the first thing that popped into my head was Riker.

Am I the only one who noticed the joke written above the toilet in the star trek 5 brig? Do not use while in spacedock???? That must be a reference to the toilets in trains not to be used in stations right?
