😱 I killed Jarl Balgruuf in Skyrim #skyrim

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you killed Jarl Balgruuf? Yes, you heard me right, what if you actually killed an essential character? It might sound impossible, but it’s surprisingly easy to make him mortal by adding just two lines of code to the Skyrim settings file.

Jarl Erikur will replace her. If capture it for the Stormcloak, Jarl Bryling will take over.

Considering how vocal he is his disdain of ulfric and how he tries to get both the Housecarl and the Steward to join in him in advocating to balgruf to join the war on tbe imperial side as soon as possible, it is honestly quire odd that he doesn't immediatly request an imperial garrison uppon becoming jarl himself.

Fun fact if you kill Jarl Vignar Gray-Mane then Jarl Balgruuf retakes the throne of whiterun. I assume something similar like this would happen if you killed the other Jarls in the game where the previous Jarl would retake the throne but I haven't tested it on them yet.

Jarl Bulgruuf, the best Jarl and the true high king of Skyrim, I've never imagined what it'd be like with him gone because it's against every fiber of my being.

I wish they would make a game that the story will progress even if you kill all of the npcs in the game. That's part of the reason I loved fallout new vegas. The only essential npc was yes man.

If I recall this was possible in Morrowwind, without any console commands, and it became impossible to complete the game.

theres actually a way to kill him without cmds or stuff like that.

during the attack on whiterun, that one bear hat guy can do a fatality on him if hes low on hp, its a hard chance but its still pretty cool

I would assume that he would have a successor so this does make sense and it's good that Bethesda made some kind of effort to make it so the quest could not be broken. Now if somebody could play along with this and maybe mod this a little bit more, perhaps Hrongar could potentially have even more of a quest line so the dragonborn can further help whiterun under his rule, if there is already dialogue related to mephala, perhaps this could be another type of Daedric quest to put Hrongar in power, and maybe we can have like a small fetch quest or something, or a deep dive.. maybe add a few locations so that Hrongar seems more significant.
