This song is a little prequel to my other song, Six Pills. Money isn't everything. I guess that’s all that I have to say about it, lol.

Thank you guys so much for listening to my music. Love you all.

Lyrics:

In the forest where the roads don’t go
Lived a weary wizard all alone
Mixing potions and his tonics too
Trying to make gold with every brew

Then one night the fiercest flood had came
Every formula had washed away
Desperate he turned to the darkest tomes
Filled with magic only evil knows

He cried out with summoning spell
A demon rose from beneath the well
So pronounced was the wizard’s pain
He was offered up a simple exchange

All the gold he could ever dream
For his life’s most important thing
Without question he signed his name
Not knowing there would be hell to pay

The wizard woke once the deal was done
Turned around to search for what was gone
Still remained his life’s important things
Plus a heavy bag of golden rings

Two years later with his wealth in hand
He built the tallest cabin in the land
Set his sights on love and found a wife
Made their vows under the starry lights

He prayed to god the demon wouldn’t take
His only love for his past mistakes
But his wife stayed alive and well
The wizard hoped he averted hell

Four years later she bore a child
The flesh and blood of borrowed time
In his cabin they lived like kings
Not knowing what the future would bring

Ah
Ooh

Six years later from that fateful day
The demon finally came to stake his claim
The wizard’s most important thing in life
The man jumped up to shield his wife and child

He begged and pleaded all could hear his cries
But no words could change the demon’s mind
With a spell the wizard’s body tore
Into a horrid monster he transformed

His bones bent backwards as he writhed
Like a beast bloodlust in his eyes
‘Cause his life’s most important thing
Wasn’t wife or child it was his sanity

He turned his gaze to his love so sweet
With a mouth full of sharpened teeth
Filled with terror she ran with haste
Child in hand she left him to his fate

In the forest where nobody goes
Lives a wizard that still haunts its roads
A wicked smile and staff of oak
Holding up what’s left of his cracked bones

He spends his days at the wishing well
Mixing potions that won’t make him well
All the riches in the world won’t quell
A life of pain from a deal with hell

Okay but can we talk about how awesome Rosendale is by referencing NOT ONLY "The Rose" by including Daisies to foreshadow the Wizard's fate, BUT ALSO referencing "Six pills" by having the demon come back after SIX years to haunt the Wizard?!!! This man is BRILLIANT!!!!

"In the forest where nobody goes, Lives a wizard that still haunts its roads, A wicked smile and staff of oak"
And here I am reminded of "Six Pills", this fragment reminds me of this one person. A very nice song that refers to the one that was created 2 years ago.

Wow. That was such a nice twist. The price, not something he could see and hold, but what was inside himself. Awesome, just awesome.

This man writes pure art and what can we say about his beautiful voice, for God's sake it is literally as if he were reading the best book ever written in each of his songs.❤❤❤❤

Theory 1: I think, in six pills song, when the guy went to the old man(wizard) house. Neighbours said no one lived there, maybe it was because after the wizard after he turned into a monster, he wipe out the memory of him of the people knew him. But couldn't able to wipe our the memory of the narrator of six pills(the lonely prince), maybe out of his reach idk. That's why the guy in six pills can't able to find the old man again.

Theory 2: I think after the wizard transformed into a monster or whatever. He would haunt the place in the forest. So when the in six pills, the main protagonist (lonely prince according to rosendale), roamed around the forest, the wizard gave him pills so he wouldn't be there, because for a depressed person, death threat won't going to show any affect. And the wizard doesn't wanted to a sin again, so he gave him pills so he'll won't be around.

Another masterpiece. Also, it would be interesting if the person from 6 pills was actually the wizard trying to self-medicate but because he lost his sanity, he never realised that the old man was himself. Kind of like a split personality

Slightly off topic, this reminds me of Mara-struck from Honkai Starrail. An emperor wanted fame and glory so he sent his people to search for immortality. After thousands of years, they did find immortality, but living such long lives would cause them to go insane and would often cause them to mutate into monsters (known as the mara-struck) that would attack anyone in sight. Immortality also caused poverty since the population was growing too fast and civil war between those who loved immortality and those who hated it

I’ve been listening to this song nonstop for the last 24 hours, and it’s still blowing my mind. The lyrics and story are just incredible—every word feels so perfectly chosen. The way it all comes together, the storytelling, the music, the creativity—it’s like nothing else. It creates this amazing, fantastical vision in my mind and transports me to another world entirely.

I also love how this song connects back to Six Pills. I saw someone mention in the comments that Six Pills came out two years ago, and I can't believe it. It feels like just a few months ago! Maybe because I still listen to it every now and then.

I don't know if anyone will read this but I think this would make a great movie like several years after the wizard got transformed a group of people go into the forest and try to discover what happened and as they look around the wizard constantly attacks them but you can see several hints about what happened to him and at the end of the movie this song plays

ROSENDALE YOU'RE A GENIUS!!!! The symbolism of the potion lying in a patch of DAISIES was such a brilliant to say "this is not going to end the way the main character thinks it will", oh man... I am AMAZED by this song, it completely blew my mind and I lowkey want to make art of

Sounds like something I could fall asleep to at the beginning, and I agree with the other comment. It does feel a little like six pills! It's quite good!

This song is super spooky, and I love the storytelling aspect of it! The way the entire song is portrayed as something out of a storybook is so enchanting! The plot twist was surprising, and getting the backstory of the wizard with the "staff of oak" was very interesting as well! Happy spooky month everyone, hope you all get lots of treats and sweets! 💖✨

I came across this song randomly earlier in the day, and I'm in LOVE with it. It sounds magical, like a music box, and like a fairy tale warning to others at all once and I can't get over it. Might need to write a side quest for something like this in an upcoming D&D game I'll be DMing in a couple months...

I like how the daisies are everywhere on the video ✨👀 I feel like it could be a hint from the Rose's abusif partner

Im glad i came across this on Pandora, i love songs that tell as story and this one was excellent. The demon twisting the price of their deal to effectively take everything from the wizard by turning him into a monster was clever
