I mean large oat latte is less words and easily understandable, but I’m a native English speaker and I would also ask for a large latte with oat milk

Honestly as a native speaker I've never said "oat latte." Since oat MILK is a customization it's more clear to order "a latte with oat milk" than "an oat latte." Similar to how you night order "an iced tea with light ice." Adding the customization after.

Though saying "oat MILK latte" seems pretty clear and yes is more casual.

Why should we sound more American? People in the whole world speak English and there are so many accents and people don't care about it, but in Russia we make efforts to sound American or British as much as we can.

As a person who's a bit lactose intolerant, if you say it like that, you're going to end up with dairy in your coffee quite a bit because too many people miss the word oat. I usually say it the way he did or if I'm at a chain, I'll ask to sub the milk for oat, so there's no misunderstanding.

As a former barista in north America, i would not understand that

I will never undestand why in USA you say "latte" - since 'latte' is the translation in italian for milk - and in Italy We say 'milk' when We mean these kind of drinks.... (golden milk intead of golden latte for instance) and if you come to Italy and you say "latte" in a random bar They serve you just the simple white pure normal milk without nothing inside, no syrup or ice, just hot milk!

Nooo! As a barista, I prefer to hear large latte with oat milk. Where'd you get "Oat latte" from?

Don’t do this, I’m a native speaker and this is just confusing. We say it just like the guy said it first

Nah, the correct way is to come up with an impossibiy complex order and say it as fast as possible

I think its kind of weird that a non native English speaker is trying to tell me how to properly speak English, only me?

As someone who worked at a coffee shop, that would just confuse me.

Replace oat with almond, for example.

“Large latte with almond milk” is very clear.

“Large almond latte” sounds to me like you want almond flavoring in your drink.
