8:20 Final thoughts
In this video, I'm investigating whether or not Martin Lewis was really strong for Remain or for leave. I'm using data from 5 years ago to find out the answer.
Did Martin Lewis really make a difference in the Brexit referendum? Or was he, like most of the population, undecided? In this video, lets investigate whether or not Martin Lewis was really strong for Remain or for leave. I'm sure you will find what he had to say very revealing and also very interesting.

A found this quite interesting: He’s always endeavoured to remain apolitical, much to the frustration of all political parties.

Martin is always interesting and manages to stay apolitical. I recall one of his most poignant comments on the referendum debate, to the effect that we were given a binary choice on a multi-dimensional issue. That comment has aged well, in stark contrast with "we've had enough of experts."

I wouldn't want to be called "biased" for hating the Nazi party, now would I, Mr. Lewis!

On the one hand, given his advice to consumers on saving money, it's as clear as a summer's day that Brexit would leave people poorer. Of course Martin Lewis could see that...we'd like to think. On the other hand, coming down on one side of the Brexit debate could harm his brand and therefore dilute or even extinguish the message he wishes to convey.

How can you remain neutral about brexit when talking about our economy. You cannot ignore the billions lost in GDP. Cannot ignore the bad deals since brexit. Cannot ignore the attack on our rights. Nothing in this life is non political and even the choice of neutrality is a political choice.

Consumers have been disadvantaged by brexit

If Lewis was a good economist or knew anything about money or business, he would, as any dunce knows, been vehemently strong on Remaining in the EU.

Leaving the EU has made us poorer. No ifs and no buts! As a "good" financial adviser, he should have spoken out strongly! It wasn't a partisan question and him stating that remaining was a better option would have had nothing to do with Tory vs Labour (other than the fact the Tories manifesto was strong on leaving) - the question/position was remain or leave!

TL;DR how does him stating that the UK population would be poorer affiliate him with a political party?

I would have voted twice to remain if I could have, but I was only allow to do that once!
