Attention Fatigue is a real thing in art museums, so DO NOT look at every piece of artwork in every single room. Here’s the correct approach, scan the room right when you walk in, and pick the artwork that stands out most to you.

Spend at least 5 mins on the artwork, read the card for context look at it from every angle, have it draw some questions out of you. Not only will you enjoy an engaging art experience but you’ll also start discovering the kind of work you’re into. This work is American impressionism by Jonas Lie showing the industrial landscape by the Brooklyn bridge. (Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester, NY)
