Privileged to have seen her in the city more than once at the Vanguard and Blue note. She became a fave and it’s no wonder why the other female jazz greats considered her the real jazz artist.

I wish there was a biopic on Betty Carter's life. She did alot of amazing on her later years ushering and mentoring a lot of young musicians teaching them how to be independent and working musicians. That duet album with her and Ray Charles is simply the best.

There was only one Charles/Carter album, right? I think their album was issued with a number of different sleeves in other countries. Wish we had more of their work together.

Thats a big big band... 6 saxophones, 2 baritones that's a lot of bottom..., 5 trumpets and 4 trombones.

Wow. This is amazing! It's great to see her so young, she was only at her start here.

A bit corny and Cab-ish, probably forced by producers. But still great history.
