Reminds me of the time I asked my friend if he wanted to get something to eat after work. He said, "I can't, I'm broke right now." I told him, "I didn't ask if you had money, I asked if you were hungry." I thought he was going to cry, bless him.

Had a friend 2 telling me 2 days ago she ain't sure if she can afford going to dinner with friends this weekend if she ain't getting the cash back from work she waiting on. Was yesterday grocery shopping and wanted to hang out after. Ask if she needed anything from the store. She only wanted frozen croissants. So I get her croissants. And some milk, cigarettes, Nutella, bread some fruits and other items that were on sale and brought them over. Told her they were on sale and I don't mind carrying some extra stuff. She almost cried and we didn't make a big deal out of it. I did it cause I grow up with food insecurities and I hate knowing ppl are hungry. I always look after my friends and make sure everyone has something to eat or at least to take on their way home. I can sleep better knowing I don't have to worry. It's hard to ask for help. We all are proud and that's okay, cause friends look out for each other and sometimes they see your suffering.
