Android-x86 is a project that provides Android support for x86, making it easy to install it on netbooks or laptops. You can use it like any other Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich device: install applications from the Android Market, add widgets and so on.

This version will run in Virtualbox:

yes again totally informative and I had Android 2.2 that was migrated to the Amd platform...probably the same project you are describing, ICS didn't have wifi support then..I installed it played around but didn't find a good use for it on the desktop...so away it went again I guess a pc for just Android would need very limited resources...instant on instant off, that sort of thing, still, can't find a great use..home automation perhaps, alarm system...

I wouldn't use it on a desktop but pretty awesome for my Grandpa who has an Android phone but can't turn on a Windows PC!

@LinuxSpatry Because it's google. for eg.: metalx1000 liked First Blood (LMMS Dubstep) or LinuxSpatry liked Star Wars Uncut: Director's Cut... And i sometimes check those videos too. They just come on my subscriptions feed...

applanet has everything you need to get this going good or like 4shared, but I liked this video & I'll be happy to use it on a desktop, I found it at CVS on a Craig Tablet - didn't even root it and I like it :) QC

I got bored with the usual Windows 7 look and i figured that android 4.0 would look very nice on a desktop but i still want to preserve the windows 7 files configuration(if you know what i mean). If i press the menu button on the android i want to see Battlefield 3.exe in there and still be able to play it.
Does this thing exist?

Interesting review. Android 4 sure looks pretty, but it's made for touch based devices so it's going to be pretty awkward using it on a desktop with a large screen and mouse. And let's not talk about keyboard shortcuts.

@MrGizmo757 wasn't that the whole vision of the ChromeOS fiasco.

@LinuxSpatry Thats what i told you - "Like" is the same as "Share", so others can see them and then maybe "Like" again. Result would be more views every day. Do you realy care that some troll disliking 29 times on every of your videos? Linux4unme gets same dislikes, but he continues gaining more subscribers and views...

Don't see a point of Android on PC - not much difference from EasyPeasy Linux and other netbook editions. Apps? - you can install apps on chrome browser.
In fact i think google developing Android not for PC's, but preparing Android for Intel - looks like Intel is coming back in to mobile devices.
