1. Use a third party launcher that allows you to have more icons on the screen at once and avoid the screen animations in the app drawer

2. Turn off screen animations through the Developer Options Settings

3. Swipe off unused tabs in the browser

4. Swipe off programs from the app switcher interface

5. Disable your Lockscreen through the Security Settings

He used launcher to get a full advantage of high resolutionon on this phone (much more icons can be visible in one screen). When Sgs ii will be updated to ics i will use this launcher for sure, thanks pocketnow.

Just updated my HTC Desire S to ICS 4.0.4, really snappy performance!!! Sense 3.6 is great but I immediately downloaded Apex Launcher Pro and am now enjoying an almost pure AOSP experience. Overclocked the 1GHz Scorpion to 1.4GHz for good measure.

@pocketnowvideo, swiping apps out of the "task manager" doesn't actually close them. It just cleans up your recent apps list a bit.

@pocketnowvideo - swiping apps from the multi-task pane doesn't always close the app. It will remove it from that visual list, though. No one seems to realise this but I think a video demonstrating this would be great.

Enjoyed your video! I bought the G.Nexus last December a few days after it came out. Love the phone overall but I hope Google separates the phone ring volume from the notification volume.

I just got ICS on my Bionic this morning. I'm curious if you still use LauncherPro or if you would recommend something else as a 3rd party launcher? Thanks for your tips

About the "None" lock screen: I used to also think that there's no way you could press buttons in your pocket by accident. Wrong. If it was a resistive screen, no problem because you really have to push on it. But with a capacitive screen, if you have cloth pockets, your thighs are enough to push things on the screen. I had my phone to no lock screen, and after having friends complain about the mysterious phone calls I make, I used a lock screen ever since.

I'm ready to get this. Hopefully the HTC EVO gets the update too.

A lot of people are hating the fact that he put launcher pro on... Honestly, I will probably keep LauncherPro when ICS gets pushed out the the GS2. I don't like paginated app drawers, and the persistent search bar would drive me a bit nuts I think,

Firstly, I like the ICS launcher. I'm not ruining the feel of the phone.

Secondly, Taking away the screen animations makes it look like it just jumped frames, like it's lagging or something. It looks a bit odd. Even having them at 0.5x would be better.

Thirdly, without the lockscreen, there's no security. Also, it looks odd. The point of a lockscreen isn't just to lock, it's to show notifications.

Fourthly, multitasking is the first thing you learn for ICS.

Fifth, hey, a good point. Thanks.

is there any way to remove the transition effect of opening recent apps through the home button, or make it show up and close faster..

when you said u press the three dots for settings in the contacts for phone settings... i noticed there is three dots in the home screen at the bottom right, so why do you need the shortcut for settings in your dock?
