Also the players as well, like Kai Havertz has come out and said they will compete even if they have to pay for their own travel

Reminds me when Barcelona wanted Daniel Agger and had made a bid, Liverpool accepted and Daniel Agger said no, because he loved the club. It was his childhood dream playing for Liverpool. Perhaps he wasn't criticising Chelsea for buying players from financially precarious clubs, but defending the practice and its applicability to Chelsea now they are in this position. But Carragher is a hothead so who knows.

As a Chelsea fan, he is right. In these kind of situations, it's an individual decision to make, be it a player or coach. Yes, we will get annoyed with what's surfacing around our club and but who knows what these to could lead to? It's a perfect chance for other teams to nab our players and with certain (who are out of contract) have no choice. It's not a criticism rather a warning to what could happen in the near future.

Chelsea getting managers and players from other clubs is just how transfer work. Every team does it. Its Jamie suggesting that coz chelsea have some trouble teams should swoop in and take everything and the managers and players at chelsea should go. In no way is it the same. That's the thing that I'm so annoyed about Carragher's comments. He's acting like Chelsea held a gun at Ashley Cole's head and told him he's joining Chelsea. Everyone that Chelsea "apparently" stole wanted to join Chelsea. That's what you call being a successful club and business. There is a reason why Chelsea has been so successful since Roman became the owner because we wanted to win and had a passion for the club.

Targeting star players who want to win from teams that aren't as competitive (something every top team does) is fundamentally different from suggesting players and managers should leave and go to other teams because of sanctions that were unfairly brought on Chelsea

Also, Carragher was so so wrong re. the youth part. The end story will be that Chelsea will be going nowhere. The new owner will be a multi billionaire, or a group of, and we'll be fine
