one reason why i love the middle is because it is realistic, almost like the show roseanne, it actually portrays what a working class family goes through, growing up i never got everything i wanted, my family struggled, and my parents were working class and didn't have a college education background nor did they come from wealthy families, and it shows the sacrifices parents go through so that their children can have better lives

I do love Mike and Sue, as she is the only one he ever really opens up with. It's good to see a softer side to him sometimes as he always seems to just roll with the punches, but here you can see him being honest that sometimes it is hard.

Goes to show that while Mike struggles to say what he feels (or express it), it doesn't mean he doesn't feel it. You appreciate the fact that his dynamic with each of the kids (Sue specifically in this case) is very special.

I love her Mike won't do emotions but knows he can talk to Sue like a grown-up and she'll get it and then Sue knows it's said with love . it's a great show

Great scene. Loved the middle. Watched all nine seasons six times. Loved all the characters too, but Brick was probably my favoraite. This show really was a masterpiece, 100 percent true. Axls goof in 5th Grade English class was the best thing ever. I'm an HS senior, so also SENIORS RULE!! (LOL!)

Just watched this episode and there must be a deleted scene before this where she hugs Mike and I’m guessing he gets angry with her. The version I saw has Frankie telling her about the diaper business, then cuts to Axl and Brick and then to this scene.
