People constantly ask the question: Is HTML a computer programming language? Well, I'm here to answer that question for you.

The short answer to the 'is HTML a programming language' question? No. It's not. And I explain why HTML is not a computer programming language in the video.

But the more complicated question is why does it matter? Whether HTML is or is not a programming language is a somewhat daft conversation. After all, what does it really matter?

If you want to get into programming, HTML should be the first language you learn. Sure, it's a markup language, not a programming language, but who cares?

I love HTML. You should too. And you shouldn't waste all your time worrying if HTML is a programming language or not.

I totally agree. The 'is html a programming language' question doesn't really get you anywhere. Just do what you love. Don't worry about labels.

Technically Yes. But on a broader higher level, any language that is given to a machine to perform something is some language [programming or not]. You are right about the negative label given to some of these important languages that perform very critical tasks. The same label is given to CSS, SQL and even JavaScript. I have heard people refer to JavaScript as a toy language. What is important is that these languages are critical to Tech. So i agree 100% with your view

I’ve always had this debate with others. I think html is a programming language. Computer programming language? Maybe html isn’t if you put the word computer in there. Great video!

In fondamental, HTML, like XML, is a description language, not a programming language. Just as SQL is an assertion language. So yes, your explanation is clear and precise. Well done!

Maybe HTML is not a programming language, but if you add CSS, you can get something that is Turing complete. So HTML is a programming language if you add in CSS. Even more so if you throw in JavaScript!
