This week, Canada’s hopes of placing in the Women’s 10m Diving at the Montreal World Cup have been thwarted. Led by Brittany Broben, the 4-member Canadian team fell short of expectations and were unable to place in the event.\n

After a successful individual display from Broben during the preliminaries and semifinals, the Canadian team finished 15th—coming in last among the top finishers. Onlookers described the disappointment as a “bitter pill to swallow” for the divers and their morale, who had all put in many hours of hard work in the sport.\n

Although the Canadian team ultimately failed to place in the event, Broben, and the other 3 divers, Eyrun Gudmundson, Breanna MacKenzie, and Stephanie Leclair, all put in admirable performances and pushed themselves to the limit. It’s clear that these divers have a bright future ahead of them, and we’ll be sure to keep our eyes peeled for their names in Canadian (and international!) diving competitions.\n

List:
-Brittany Broben
-Eyrun Gudmundson
