It seems like it's been nothing but bad news coming out of Robert Morri's former church, Gateway, but this news is maybe the worst we have heard yet.

If my pastor ever offered a money back guarantee on God's money, I would immediately leave. Where is discernment?

I visited gateway back in the 2010's and there was way too much focus on giving. I knew a friend that became obsessed with Robert Morris book the blessed life, if that's the correct name. He had these super unrealistic expectations that he was gonna tithe and pass all the "tests" of the bible and wake up one day to a life of ease and playing golf all day long.

That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard a pastor say. I’m just shocked that would even cross a pastor’s mind to offer that.

Give money where you want it to go. Food for the hungry. Shelter for the homeless. Healing for the sick. Sustenance for the elderly. Skip the middleman.

I'm not sure why this came up in my feed, but I like what you said, and I subscribed to see what you're going to say next

Morris was a man running from his past and his past caught up with him.

God loves a cheerful giver
What happened to the concept of the Widows mite?
Or not letting the left hand know what the right hand is doing?
It must be the end times!!
Such craziness?

" I hope we don't have to talk about them ( Gateway) any more"
So apt.
Thank you

You can’t get it back anyway you’ve already taken your tax deduction. You have to go back and prove everything before they could ever give anything back.

There was no transparency in this church whatsoever & it is not a laughing matter.

I didn’t think you’re developing good disciples with that strategy. It gives wrong perspective on tithings reality. We’ve become such a consumer church that I could see Jesus flipping tables.
