The 258 in line six from AMC was a fantastic engine. I had a 79 Jeep CJ7 with a 258, and it was a beast. Especially with an aluminum manifold, and a decent carb.

4200 vortech is an 4.2 liter inline 6 from the 2001-2005 Chevy Trailblazer is surprisingly good if a inline 6 is what you want to keep it as.

Pound out the pistons and rebuild the engine is what I'd do, keep it original

You can get that 235 going. Bringing it back would be epic. It would show what determination, and time, can do.
A friend is working on a Buick straight 8, he’s got a long way to go, but he’s determined it will run again.

Fords 4.9 inline 6 is another super simple and durable engine.I wish they were still put in the latest lineup of their trucks.

My first car was a 1960 Belair with a big 6 (235). I paid a whopping $65 for that car in 1970. It was a Chicago rust bucket, but I drove it up to North Dakota and used it through two winters. It was loose enough that it would start even when the oil was like jello.

Here in Brasil we have a 250 inline six for Chevrolet Opala and have more preparation for that engine. Maybe is a good ideia

Rebuild the old inline six, but upgrade it with a turbo or a supercharger, and maybe a six speed! 😎👍

Bro I love that you cleaned your shop, first thing I look at the floor and after you groomed I was happy but when you pressure washed it was a relaxing feeling

May be able to bore that out to 250 cid. Had one in a 1967 Chevy C10 panel truck that had over 300, 000 miles of use before the truck got totaled. It ran great for having so miles on it.

I see to recall that Chevrolet made ac230! And 250. I would suggest 250. Looks very much like the 235 but better. A wee big bigger and more modern so it would a nice upgrade and restomod

Needs a 4200 inline from The Trail Blazer

Would using electrolysis help in unseizing the engine?

4.2L vortec would be wild. They come out of 2002-2009 chevy trailblazer and lookalike models. I had one awesome motors problem is the 4L-slippys are no good

There was a 261 and GM had a 171 as early as 1929. Though if one decided to go more modern the 4.2 out of trailblazer isn’t a bad engine as long as it is maintained properly
