We needed a closet door for the bedroom and there isn’t really room for a normal door so we decided on a barn door. I figured I would take you guys a long for this budget minded two day build! Hope you enjoy!

Special thanks to Home Depot for inviting me to be part of the PRO-Spective program and for sponsoring this build!

Great job presenting this in a very diy friendly format. Definitely glue whenever you can. Just finishing up my door.

Just recently discovered your channel . It quickly became my favorite go-to for woodwork. I have been woodworking as a hobby for about 6 years now, but I love to learn new techniques and methods. I appreciate your relatable experience and expertise.

Bondo \m/'s. I use to use it when moving hinge and latch placement on doors. No wait time. I'm a vendor for Depot. Even worked out of your store 11 years ago. No shame in using Ryobi. I've got a few of their tools. Nailer, belt sander, hot glue gun. Does the job. Thank you for all your effort. I know better than most all the work that goes into producing a video. It doesn't just jump out of the camera to YouTube...

Really helpful techniques and pacing! I loved the square edge technique for the circular saw and I am impressed with how nicely the door came together--it gives me confidence I can do something similar. Thank you.

One of the great rewards for watching this video is that sweet pup :) Can't bring my pittie into the shop because he likes to try and sniff up all the saw dust...lol. Folks always take not of my Ryobi tools vs. my Kapex, domino, sawstop, etc....but I don't really use the a lot, and not for precision work, so they are perfectly fine for my shop, and for probably 95% of homeowners. The drills do have a bit more runout than I really like, but not enough for me to get a different brand, battery system, etc, etc, etc.

Hey there. Great fun video. Two things. 1. Love the one legged squat balance stance when cutting off the boards. 😉 👍🏽. 2. At 8:48, would you recommend how one would cut the extra length of the barn door beam/track? I have a similar application but since the door will never travel that far, and for aesthetics it being shorter would look better, wondering if there is a way to cut that extra off? Thanks for the video!

tGreat video! I recently also built a sliding barn door for my kitchen….looked great ….at first, and then it warped out totally! Any tips to prevent that happening?

Thank you for keeping it simple! There's nothing I hate more than a thumbnail that claims "easy", "anyone can do it", "quick build", etc, and then they bust out a whole garage of professional level tools.

Looks good, Brandon. I was torn about glue but I guess it would be ok since you didn't glue the panels together. BTW - I moved 2 years ago and still can't find things in my shop. Take care.

Love the videos dude, your def above my caliber of a cabinet maker. I just have once critique. I see a wall full of Woodpeckers instruments and of the past dozen or so videos, I’ve e seen the use of non of these. I don’t get it. I have about 1/4 of the very expensive Woodpeckers precision tools and I make sure I use them on EVERY project! Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m tired of seeing a highlighted wall full of these instruments to only be a backdrop for peoples YouTube channel…..

Using a $200 trim bit isn't cheating. It's getting your money's worth.
I have that bit and it is wonderful.
