How in the actual f*** is it legal for Activision to keep selling games that are literally dangerous for you to play. I swear, the gaming industry needs regulation desperately. Maybe not when it comes to artisitic freedom, but when it comes to security and business/monetization practices then absolutely.

Call me a conspiracy theorist but I think they are doing it intentionally so we play the newer games

Bro this is so sad… BOCW was the last COD game I actually dumped a lot of time in to. It’s going to be a long wait for treyarchs next game

It’s crazy cuz Cold War had only been out for 3 years and all this is happening. Activition really needs to have a security system for these games it’s crazy how all they do is focus on the new titles but yet barely put any content in them to begin with. Cold War is such a great game and it sucks to see this game hacked already 😔🤦‍♂️

At this point, how is it that Activision avoids some kind of lawsuit since they are still selling titles that can compromise your security, borderline false advertisement of their current games, and predatory money making schemes?

This clearly happened in retaliation to activision hitting the older modded games with a cease and desist. It sent a message to the hackers that exploit their vulnerabilities.

It showed them that acti doesn’t care about the safety of their paying users, so now the very same hackers are moving to modern CoD games to see if the vulnerabilities are still there, evidently they are.
Hoping this leads to a class action lawsuit against activision

I don’t want anyone to deal with having info stolen but if there’s a lot then there should be a class action lawsuit to put Activision in its place for once

Call me a conspiracy theorist but I feel like this was intentionally done by Activision.

“Ok MWII has a declining player base however the older ones are experiencing a slight increase. Let’s make it so they have to come back to MWII if they want to safely play call of duty”

Doesn’t sound out of character. Actually that sounds something they’d do

This really makes me wonder if Activision is compromising their games on purpose.

Activision won’t fix their games. Only updates to the shop nowadays

I'm sure they will keep Cold Wars shop nice and hack free still.

It’s definitely happening in modern warfare, two playing multiplayer, calling out cheaters, and instantly getting game dev error’s, but only when you call these people out

Cold war out of the most recent cods was my favorite. I never go back to play any of the past cods cause they usually get infested with hackers once the support leaves and sadly this proves my reason why i dont. I don't see Activision doing anything about this anytime soon. They sell older cods at full price even though they're also loaded with hackers and modders, this isn't gonna be any different. Can't believe we still support Hacktivision even though they treat their community like crap.

Plot twist: it's actually Activision hacking to force people to go to the new game.
E.g you can't get caldera unless to pay for modern warfare

It’ll defiantly end up happening to the rest of the old games as well, they won’t support the previous three games after moving on to warzone 2 and the “next generation” of cods

It's become clear at this rate that Activision is implicit on milking its playerbase dry especially if they're going to pull the rug from under the players in terms of safety and protection while playing the older games being sold at nearly full price now. Hell, Cold War among the newer ones just got re released on Steam and now we're seeing the carelessness from Activision in terms of security with this. They don't even optimize their games anymore it's just absolute insanity.

Unless the networking and backend code saw major changes between games, the vulnerabilities that are affecting Cold War are likely still present in the current COD. I wouldn't be surprised if Activision is more concerned with the next shop bundle than with the cybersecurity of their games
