Orange County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call on February 26 from Maddie Soto's mom as she reported her missing. Bodycams were recording as deputies spoke to Maddie's mom, Jenn Soto, and Stephan Sterns. Sterns, Jenn Soto's boyfriend, is now charged with sex crimes involving Maddie and her murder.
