Cannot express how must joy I get at Astarion being so much more bubbly and lifelike and happy! You really only catch glimpses of this personality throughout the game but during the epilogue he's finally free and unafraid and he shows it!

Non-ascendant Astarion retains his bubbly and silly self, enjoying what he has and who he is. While Ascendant Astarion seems preoccupied trying to gain more power lol and still hates himself.

If Astarion isn't in BG4, I will be upset. Even if he isn't a party member. I feel like they set it up to where it COULD happen, like imagine he started his own assassination guild, and you get to meet him & you help him track down some really elusive criminal or something. Just a thought, but I just want more Astarion in my life.

Deserved the Game Award for his Work, Astarion is my favourite by far. I don't even have any interest in the Romance aspect of the Game, but the VA really lived his Character and you can hear it

See, this is why I don't consider Astarion to be "I can fix him" kinda character. Cause this, this right here is how he is. He's sneaky and charming and sassy and sadistic and low key kinda evil and that's fine. His appeal isn't that he's a project. His appeal is that he's a morally ambiguous fop. Starts off that way, ends up that way.
And that's a good thing.

He's actually just a big ol goofball that is super cheeky underneathe all the angst, intrigue and trauma. I do love the subversion of making the rogue of the group so chipper and silly, instead of a brooding edgelord. Even when he was on guard and untrusting of tav + others he still joked around and did the best to handle the situation.
