For your last question I don't understand how you got 86.6 for your Ay.
I keep doing it and I end up with 120-86.6 = 33.48

The second example is wrong, because you have 5 suport reaction and 3 equilibrium equations .Second example is undetermined you can do it like that. i might be wrong .i will be very happy if you explain me .
