I’m comparing 4 different belly bands based on 5 criteria: comfort, movement, concealability, functionality, and safety. I rate them all from 1-5 on each criterion and let you know what I like and dislike about each! Please keep in mind that everyone’s body type is different. I have viewed dozens and dozens of belly band videos, focusing on those that evaluate and rate products. You are far and away the best reviewer on YouTube. Your presentation is based on experience, product quality and other factors important to a buyer. Most of the reviewers are poorly prepared and even worse at presenting the product in a thorough and useful manner. Your evaluation process is reasonable, fair, informative and extremely useful. I very much love the fact that she demonstrates that the "soft" holsters are NOT safe from negligent discharges. I see too many people review these cheap Amazon belly bands as being the best thing ever, when I would never carry in something like that. Alien Gear makes an excellent belly band that's like neoprene scuba material (not stretchy nylon) that stays put and uses a normal IWB kydex holster, meaning you only need to own one holster for both belly band carry and belt carry. Excellent video and very well presented.

Thank you for rating with categories and numbers in each. One comment about the Tactica, which I bought on advice from a veteran female shooter. For those of us with a little extra weight in the tummy or waist thickening that comes with age, the Tactica’s good cant for draw becomes bad for concealment. I only wear it to walk in the country where concealment doesn’t matter. Plus one of the screws holding the Kydex holster has fallen out after only four or five uses. Just a Tactica opinion from a 70 year old. (I am 5’5” tall and weigh 135 pounds.)

I purchased my wife the Can Can off of the recommendation of Patriot Nurse. It seems to be the most comfortable as the material feels nice, & with the faux satin lace up, as well as the thinner, & least bulky cut it is the most feminine of the four you showed. The build quality seems great, & the rare earth magnets in the pouches that aid in retention is a plus, as is the extra pockets for mags, phone, knife etc. It is a great value. My only concerns is the minimal trigger protection, & would prefer a shell so that the pistol can be reholstered without the need of another hand, or digging around with the muzzle.

I actually installed a kydex holster into my ComfortTac belly band. It works great! Best of both worlds. If I could post a pic, I would.

Thanks for this! In particular thank you for introducing me to the Tactica band. It has the fastest, safest, most natural draw IMHO. Being at that extreme cant, you get a good grip right away, won't get hung up on your shirt, and the band won't pull up if your waist is narrower than your hips. It's the only band I'd rate as truly safe to draw one-handed (or re-holster as you mentioned). One-handed use is a factor too many people neglect to consider. Someone could be grabbing you, or your other hand might be needed for your child, your door, your car, or a hundred other possibilities.

I'm going to a CCW class tomorrow, practiced in recreational shooting, but trying to get a head start on researching how I want to conceal carry. Your videos have been super helpful! I think I want to mostly carry in a belly band, my body type is similar to yours, I don't wear belts, and I mostly wear active clothes... leggings and shirts snug on the twins with light flow around the abdomen. I'm conflicted in the brands though! I was almost decided on the crossbreed modular 2.0 until watching this. I liked the versatility of the interchangeable kydex holster. Kydex is a must for me. I liked the velcro interchangeably for different firearms, being able to easily change from body, to car, to bed, with their accessories. Safety and draw are most important, but after watching this and over reviews... it moves too much. I think adding some silicone clothing tape could fix that. ... my climate is always dry... it's hot or freezing and not much in between. Something breathable is important. Any updated thoughts/recommendations? I'll note that the Can Can seems to be discontinued.

One of the most important things about any holster (especially a belly holster) are what I call "fall tests", and how secure the guns are retentioned in the holster. If you get pushed or knocked down, will the gun fall out??? If someone one tries to grab it off of you, how hard would it be???? I see these kinds of tests and theories neglected on a lot of belly holster review videos. Thanks for the review, will be looking into the Tactics a little more.
