How to Unlock the Alternative Firewatch Ending

Firewatch is an incredible narrative adventure game set in the Wyoming wilderness. The game features protagonist Henry as he takes up residence in one of the Firewatch towers. His guide to the forest is Delilah, a fellow Firewach with secrets of her own.

She said the helicopter is making rounds, so if he eventually got there he would surely evac, but if not that is another missing person there

Dude, this ending got so dark, just finished the game, and tbh, this ending makes me feel that Henry stayed cuz he realised no reason to come back home and how things ended up with Delilah makes feel he lost all hope and stayed in the forest waiting for his fate. Plus after watching what he saw would easily break anyones mental health.

See the thing is; freeplay showcases Henry by himself, which many have interpreted as the aftermath of the campaign. Henry ultimately decides to stay at or return to the job. On the place where you can usually find the kid's body, is a lantern which implies an investigation, as the body is nowhere to be found. Players have again interpreted this as Delilah ending up confessing to the police what happened, allowing for the kids's body to be found and taken out of the cave. So considering this theory; Henry doesn't die in the fire if you decide to stay behind, as he's again seen in the freeplay mode. So in that sense the "alternate" ending doesn't quite change much about the story.

They come back around. Delilah literally says they do rounds when you ask what happens if they dont come back when she leaves. They do not just leave him 💀

not going to lie i feel like this alternet ending is just a glitch its litterly the same ending but henry isent in the heli. when i mean glitch i mean something they might have added in as a mistake or a timelimit to get in. Because it realy doesent feel like an ending

I was legitimately running around the map trying to get to the evac place and getting turned around every 5 seconds and it was giving me massive anxiety 🥲
