As a woman I know exactly what he means. My husband was the breadwinner and I totally depended on him while i was finishing up college. I could never repay him for that and he would never ask me to. Now that I'm working, our relationship has improved so much (not that it was bad before) and I am able to appreciate time with our daughter a lot more. Time with him more. Financially, it gives me a peace of mind and sense of importance knowing I can finally (soon) help him pay off my car, handle grocery costs, etc.

I think the problem that a lot of people in the comments aren’t seeing is that you guys aren’t making that money so you don’t have the mindset that comes with it. When you break down 100k a year, you’re bringing home around 70 which is about $5800 a month. In what world is $5800 a month enough to provide everything that my wife and I need + mortgage/rent and bills + kids needs + food + outings + daycare for those outings + vacations + investing + kids college + emergency savings. Not saying that it’s impossible but you’re not living a good life off that money, you’re doing alright for yourself at best.

Life style is all that matters here. Even if you are making $500k if your life style is too expensive, you will continue to chase more money. I think people need to reevaluate their life style basically. You see in life, contentment is the biggest gift you can ever have as human being.

he is not lying. My wife an I are somewhat close to 100k no car payments and minimal bills and the wtf moment is how the hell I don't have much remaining even so much so we do not do no extra splurging but I am gonna fix all that because I already set so much in motion with CS and cloud

Money is a funny thing in this day and age where you have to have the mindset to make as much of it as you can. The middle class is disappearing . Job salaries aren't increasing to match the rising cost of living. It's getting to be concerning.. A lot of people are living paycheck do paycheck and wish they could be saving. I'm working two jobs, still not making $100K/yr and know that I am too busy to even have a woman in my life while studying towards my cyber certification. It's very difficult to do it all.

If you don’t live in one of the coastal cities, New York, LA, etc. this isn’t true but I do agree with the general sentiment making more makes things a lot easier

Great content. He definitely has a point. The cost of living is very high just about anywhere you live these days and all bills associated are exorbitant. It forces Husbands and Wives to both work and then here come a myriad of problems especially if there are young children in the household.

Can you please weigh in on the massive amounts of layoffs in the tech industry? I want to break into tech, but I’ve been reading how brutal the job market is and how professionals with years more experience can’t find anything. Thank you in advance!

The problem with that mindset is that she can wake up tomorrow and divorce you and take half of your money. If she's working, and you guys make around the same, then you don't have to worry about half your money being taken away in the event of a divorce. The stay-at-home wife is a scam and it is financially dangerous for men to do such. I would never advise it
