Honestly if you spent $10, 000 on your floor I'd make sure the cleaners knew exactly what to do when it come to cleaning them.

Come on. You couldn't tell your cleaner something that important.

A little while back I helped my grandparents redo their basement floor, it was made of 4 foot snap in boards and we used a little over 800 of them, i personally lost about 2-2½ square inches of skin as they had a tendency to pinch, less than 2 months after we left they went on vacation and the downstairs fridge's ice maker leaked all over the floor it had 4-7 inches of water everywhere and the entire floor had to replaced.

Yeah. I hope they didn't just leave cleaner out and hope the housekeeper knew what to do. That sounds like something that would have required a phone call and follow-up email. The the cleaner left out with a note referencing the call and email.

Yes, floors that can't be cleand easily and are not durable are really the worst!

He probably did the same as a homeowner did with me. Never said a word to her about the change until she was done, so she followed her normal routine. Those who don't communicate and instead just assume people will notice a random bottle on the side deserve the mistakes they cause.

I don’t understand how a wax ruined the floor. Unless the wood wasn’t sealed with a finish, which I can’t imagine anyone would do. None of this makes any sense. You just strip the wax. You don’t have to completely refinish the floor.

Some people think a change in routine is a criticism and will continue to do things as they know how UNTIL someone says "New floors = new products. Don't use the old ones because it will ruin the floors we JUST INSTALLED." Just putting out bottles on a counter ISNT going to convey a change is being made. It IS going to convey you just bought new stuff and probably haven't put all your groceries/store items away yet.

Some housecleaners do 2-10 houses a day, and some places are daily/weekly/monthly, so they're not gonna notice a new floor, or a change in products. If they have a system, and a homeowner throws a monkey wrench into the whole thing, THEY NEED TO COMMUNICATE THAT.

Edits: damn typos

Floors ruined that easily weren’t done correctly in my book.

Here’s a tip every single homeowner should look into research it, and eventually useless after years of having all types of dogs in my house. I discovered if you use waterproof, marine varnish. Your floors will never be destroyed by water or dog waste. I don’t know why this is not done more often.

"Left out"
Sounds a lot like "Didn't tell"

Bro dropped 10k and couldn't be bothered to tell his cleaner. He just expected them to realize to use the one out. 😂

The real crime is 10k to have a floor refinished!

Never leave the house the first time a new cleaner or worker is doing something in your home. Also a wax cleaner would not leave such a film that it needs anything more than a polish remover like amonia to remove the wax. When you have waxed shiney floors you still have to remove the wax every now and then and redo the wax. Thyere not ruined. Theres no way in hell a cleaner refinished those floors and wax is pretty easy to remove to matt... you can even accidentally do that if you use the wrong cleaner on a waxed floor too.

I don't get why people choose looks that can easily be ruined. My parents has an oak dinnertable that's soap-scrubbed. You are ONLY allowed to wash it off with warm water. NOTHING ELSE! It doesn't take well to spills of any kind witch means they often cover the table with a wax cloth... Why not just dye it whatever you want and then coat it with a lacquer or something designed to keep the contense sealed?! I DON'T GET IT!!!

We really pay $10, 000 just to have the wood in our homes look slightly different

Wait so let me get this right - you charged them $10k to stain their floors and not properly seal them. Then they tried to wash them and they weren’t sealed so they got ruined??? Rookie mistakes here from y’all it sounds like

That’s the customers fault. Should’ve told the cleaner well before. Shouldn’t have redone it, make him suffer for his idiocy.
