3 Reasons to convert your sprinklers to Rain Bird Rotary R-VANs

I recently converted my traditional sprinkler spray heads to a more water effiecient nozzle, Rain Bird R-VANs. These nozzles provide a much stronger water droplet that will precisely water where you only want it to land. Virtually zero misting, these nozzles will help to save you water in the long run.

I combine these with vans where you don't want much water, like downhill. Vans put out much more water.

How about doing a mock up and water the pavement to see if you get even coverage

U series are better. Better close in water coverage and a broader coverage as well. Not great in the wind though but better at watering the grass. R-Vans look cool watering. The misting style are better at water coverage. Those little fingers on the R-Vans take all day to get a zone watered. And anytime you or anyone else talks about saving water, all that means is it will take each zone LONGER to complete and put less water on the grass. Which is the entire purpose of an irrigation system.

Just installed and the 17-24” doesn’t quite throw enough distance. I will try a few K Rain 26-30 nozzles and hopefully that will get me my coverage.

Can you adjust these to 3/4 or full circle ?

I suggest not using this type of nozzle or any type of variable area ones especially if you have any particulate matter in your water, well water or reclaim in particular. They use multiple very small orifices where spray nozzles have one large one.

These are trash. I converted and all of the grass that is closer to the sprinkler died. With HE-van nozzles that I used to have, there are dual sprays. One of them sprays close to the sprinkler while the other sprays far.

"These nozzles provide a much stronger water droplet" lmfao clown

Those are junk, not even coverage without having to water the sidewalks

If I could give this product a negative rating I would. I see Home Depot no longer carries these, so picked them up at Lowes. The adjustment of the radius was non-existant. Like a ferris wheel spinning with no ability to increase or decrease. CRAP.
