The French live in a country with mild weather and do love to be outside. Cafes and restaurants with outdoor patios are of course famous and not a stereotype. Growing up, from late spring to early fall, we would have as many meals as possible in our backyard. It was a daily thing. There wasn't a Sunday that went by without the "promenade de digestion" after lunch. In the summer time, it was a walk in the country side or in the woods. In the winter time, we drove up the mountain and played in the snow while enjoying the sunshine.

I mean yeah, in France "cheese" is a dish in most meals. It's served between the main course and desert. Not necessarilly anything fancy, nor a large quantity of it, but it's usually how we do things.
