Twenty years...two people. Directed by Lone Scherfig (director of "An Education," Academy Award-nominated for Best Picture), the motion picture "One Day" is adapted for the screen by David Nicholls from his beloved bestselling novel One Day. After one day together -- July 15th, 1988, their college graduation -- Emma Morley (Academy Award nominee Anne Hathaway) and Dexter Mayhew (Jim Sturgess of "Across the Universe") begin a friendship that will last a lifetime. She is a working-class girl of principle and ambition who dreams of making the world a better place. He is a wealthy charmer who dreams that the world will be his playground. For the next two decades, key moments of their relationship are experienced over several July 15ths in their lives. Together and apart, we see Dex and Em through their friendship and fights, hopes and missed opportunities, laughter and tears. Somewhere along their journey, these two people realize that what they are searching and hoping for has been there for them all along. As the true meaning of that one day back in 1988 is revealed, they come to terms with the nature of love and life itself.

I was cried at the end...when something that best for us but we didn't realized the value of that thing..after it goes far from us then we realize the value of that's thing...Emma always hide her feelings and Dexter is dumb that he didn't realise Emma is perfect for him...Best movie ever

Its always like this when best friends fall in love.. lot of feelings, jealousy, hurting, pain.. but we keep holding them to ourselves to make the other person happy and not to make any uncomfortable situations which can ruin that friendship thinking that if the other one doesn't feel the same.. but at the end, when we realize that we meant to be together either we dont have time or either our lives has changed to something that we cant turn or change anymore...!!! It really hurts and its such a strong feeling that most of us cannot be get rid of for a long time, may be for a lifetime!!!

I read the book and then I watched the trailer. It's such a great feeling to see which part of the book it was taken from. I cry whenever I see this trailer because it's a heart-breaking story of Dex and Em, Em and Dex...

Omygodhh...its like waking up one morning and just can't able to find myself anything or like someone has stolen something that is most dear to me I cried that hardddd and just hunted for some place any place to express it. They are so adorable....

Just streamed it on Netflix. This is such a great movie. And Anne Hathaway's English accent sounds authentic to my American ears, just as Bridget Jones' did, or Natalie Portman's in V for Vendetta. Jim Sturgess and Romola Garai were great too. The actors were lovely to look at, beautiful.

Oh gosh... I saw it and... it really left me speechless. This is one of the best films I've ever seen. Maybe it is because Anne Hathaway is my favourite actress. But at the end I cried so hard! It's so sad and a really cute story.

movie reviews are not so good but the story itself was great. although anne h. was criticized with her yorkish accent i still think that she did best and i couldnt imagine anyone else portraying the role of emma aside from her. this movie made me cry in a lot of ways.

Very touching movie :(
It completely made me feel so many different feeling about our life, and I guess that was the best 20 years and one day in their lifetime even it's not exactly what they want it to be.
And, Hathaway is lovely as always, she's too beautiful :)
