Andrew YORK - Snowflight

I'm not scared of 'easy pieces'. 'Snowflight' is a nice p-i-m arpeggio workout and at the same time a beautiful piece of music.

Oh man, I just randomly remembered this song when I was playing something random on my guitar. I couldn't remember the song exactly, but remembered it was called 'snow something'. I learned how to play this song maybe 15 years ago, from a program that taught you how to play tabs via MIDI files! Serious oldskool stuff! Glad I finally reconnected with this song. I've fallen back in love with it! Thanks!

In this song you're basically playing 3 strings in the same order multiple times on different chords with your thumb, index, and middle fingers -- practice this picking pattern slowly every day (15 minutes daily at least) & you will gradually build control & speed over your picking fingers. You will improve only if you play it correctly, so sacrifice speed for accuracy at first. There's no other real trick behind this besides hours of practice like anything else; if you're new it might mean that it'll take maybe 2-4 weeks worth of practice sessions for your fingers to finally adjust, and I did this while practicing other songs to avoid the frustration. Hope this helps!

This is the piece that we're using as a placement test in our guitar class. So beautiful, but for someone who just started, really tough at allegro tempo. I can play it very well at slower tempos though.
