Forging a Cavalry Scout Ep. 1 - Thunder Run | U.S. Army

The 194th Armored Brigade transforms civilians into trained and fit Soldiers who enable our Army to fight and win our nation's wars. One Military Occupational Specialty they train is 19D, or Cavalry Scout: the eyes and ears of the U.S. Army.

Follow along in the coming weeks and watch a group of trainees complete their 22 weeks of One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning.

i was in one of the last classes at ft knox and my bunkmate was some farm kid from rural iowa with an accent that you could shuck corn to...to top it off his name was Hank, probably the most farm kid name out there, and i'll never forget when my dog died at about week 8 and i read the letter my mom sent telling me about how he got out and got hit by a car and Hank just looked at me and said "it dont matter Terry, you're here now, and the best thing you can do is honor him for the years that he was by your side" by far one of the most memorable moments of my OSUT experience

19D here. Alpha 5-15 Ft. Knox OSUT 2006. I loved it. The experience changed my life. I’ve been all over the world actually doing awesome shit.
I got a secondary MOS as 11B. They get to do cool shit but I’d rather ride in the truck than hump. 😂
