Underrated master. Not so much chops but melodic counter melodies reminiscent of Paul McCartney or Geddy Lee. Plus maybe the coolest looking players ever.

Rob's the reason i started playing bass and began my musical path back in 2000...heard sour girl when it came out and was like, wow, that bass! my all time favorite bassist!

Not only is he number #1 - there hasn't been a better bass player in pop/rock/indie since him. In fact, he's probably the best bass player since the early-80s.

Met him in 1997 in Encinitas Ca. He was the nicest dude - he talked with me for a few minutes about new music it was great.

Tremendous musician/artist in every sense of the word. His chops and feel on the bass is second to none but what he does melodically for the song just elevates things to a whole new level. Robert DeLeo is amazing (and so is Dean)

Robert Deleo is my idol. He's so versatile and dominant in his style. I had the pleasure of meeting him and the rest of the band recently and they were class acts, especially Rob

I agree with this. Robert is just a great musician altogether and he always had a 1950's vibe about him. He is just a cool guy

Knew how to play within the track better than most

Chris Joannou of Silverchair deserves this spot. He’s incredibly slept on!! Their final album was weak, but every album prior to that was a masterpiece.

Not only does he kill it on bass, i specifically think his work on Vatican Giftshop outlines his abilties best, but his skills as a songwriter are above and beyond expectation in a rock band

I've tried playing STP songs on bass. Not easy.

Naw, he’s number 1. He is an incredible bassist and song writer. A true master and severely underrated

This guy is def top 3. I don’t know who I’d say is better. Maybe Les claypool but that’s an entirely different animal of playing

Caught them on 4, opening for RHCP. STP owned the place.

I think he himself is or was the core of STP
