Departures: Examining a Paradigm Shift

Watch the artists as they construct small boats from clay and cages that depict the contrast between the 'haves/gilded' and have-nots/humble' -- the refugees that cross the seas for a better life. Miller and Ledingham set up their installation in the gallery by suspending the boats in the cages. After the exhibit closes they release the boats on a nearby river source -- the headwaters of the Gard River, where they return to the earth.
