Whenever I'm engaging Christians in conversation it seems there are two different attitudes towards my views.
The first is "You are going to burn in a lake of fire, it's what you deserve, have fun". The second is "I would like to help you by having you realize that if you change and begin to love somebody that I can't prove exists then your soul will be saved and you will live forever after your death".
My belief is that the only definition of a "soul" is the personality of of the person involved in this transformation, therefore I would have to change my whole personality to enter this paradise in the sky.
If I change my personality then who am I?, I would have to change everything about the way I think and view things, a sort of permanent mental lobotomy for eternity, my whole personality would be changed forever, people who loved me for my personality would now be confronted with a robot whose whole existence consisted of platitudes and forever gratitude to the invisible man for being permitted to exist.
This Heaven will be filled with people who all have the same personality, it would be so much like the inhabitants of an ants nest whose Sole existence revolves around the Queen ant, or in this instance, the King ant, Anybody who questions the policies or attitude of the King ant is discarded into a fire or has their lobotomy operation repeated. Is this what I'm supposed to aspire to and support if I were to become a Christian? NO THANK YOU MISTER JESUS.
