The holding period requirement to make a qualified dividend is unnecessary: the Form 1099 given to you by your brokerage at will classify all your dividends as Qualfied at the end of the year, whether you held for 61+days or not

Fortunately, in Canada we have Tax Free Savings Account (TFSA) that allows you to contribute $88 000 life time as 2022. The dividends under this account are not taxed. I have been putting money into this account for the last 3 years. And you can have multiple TFSA accounts provided you don't go over the life time limit.

Do we still pay taxes if we never sold any stocks within a year? Also if we made over $10 within a year?

So are you taxed in a bracket depending on how much income you make off of your dividends, or your total income you make with your job, rentals, Etc included?

How does the tax for dividends for non US citizens??? Since America has one of the stronger and active investment markets for stocks, bonds, etfs, drips etc. This is the obvious market for investing but what if you are a Mexican citizen investing in the market. Isn't the withholding automatically at 35%???

Thank you, Professor G. on all your videos. There is a dividend stock that has an annual dividend yield of 129%. Stock ticker Zim. Is it a dividend trap? Company located in Israeli, so when filing taxes, it's foreign tax or no. Stock is dropping, too. Is it possible for you to make a video on ZIM when you have time. Thanks.

If my dividends gets reinvested to the same tax automatically, do I still pay tax on it. Also if I got paid dividends, not reinvested automatically to the same stock but I took the money to invest it in another stock. Do I pay taxes even though I did not take out the money?

Would you still receive a form for tax purposes if you reinvest all the dividends? Thus, never collecting any physical gains.
