Easter Eggs From Really Old Games | Ashens

Do YOU like really old games that were only really popular in Europe? Do YOU like hearing about strange little things hidden away in them? Then YOU should stop reading text and start watching video, like.

Big cheeks stuffed of thanks go to several lovely people on Twitter who helped decode the audio file from Enterprise, which was in a format so ancient it made cobwebs shoot out of my SSD.

If you know of weirdo little hidden things for old games for the obscurer systems, by all means drop me a line. But please - nothing for the Nintendo or Sega consoles. Or more recent than 1995.

(Argh! Just uploading this and I remember that there was a TARDIS that flew past in Hero Quest 2 for the Amiga if you hung around the desert area. Or something like that.)

I don't know about the other versions, but in the Amiga version of The Colony, when you activate a projector in one room, it plays a backwards sound file. If you find that file on the disk and play it backwards it says "Get a job! Move out of your parents' basement!"

At 3:00 before the superman easter egg, the ninja on the main screen winks his right eye at you.

In the Super Man easter egg you could see the ninja in the bottom right winking just before superman arrives

Loved this, loved everything about it. I'd appreciate you doing the occasional episode of Terrible Old Games You've Probably Never Heard Of if you could, they were bloody awesome.
Or you and Larry doing LP's of old 8 bit computer games.

Ashens you legend.

Colony and Rescue are two games I always completely forget the names of when I feel like reliving my speccy days.

Its always fun/interesting to try and find any 'Easter Eggs' in games from over the decades, even in today's more modern games you still get the occasional one that a developer stuck in somewhere, or in reference to another game or developer/company as such haha!

I really enjoyed this video, thanks Ashens! Also the TV effect at the end seems very similar to the effect in Sony vegas. You'll probably never read this but I'm a big fan of vegas so happy days if you do use it!

I remember watching this video when I was four or five; after being a fan of Ashens for a year, I find that he was the one who made this. It’s almost kind of predestined.
