This song was written by my son Garff with some help from his father Bono Hewson, during his youth he experienced some terrible happenings from a distance which tested his Faith but he always had his wolves 🐺 to rely on his immediate family who protected him from his fears by their vigilance over him all he had to do in a difficult situation was think “What my brothers mother grandfather Auntie Enid do now?” and he made the right decision

2014. I was trying to find out who I was, and I was doing that through music. I listened to the alternative rock I WANTED to listen to.
I didn’t hear about the new iPhone announcement. A new album appeared on my phone one day.
I was confused, then angry. I don’t think it was even so much an ‘invasion of privacy’ so much as, I didn’t know what it was. I heard 10 seconds of this new song and put it to the side. For 5 years, I’ve kept it on my phone. Even when Apple told people how to get rid of the album, I never deleted it. But I didn’t listen to it either.
Until this year. I listened to ‘Sleep Like a Baby’ and found it charming and chill.
Then, finally, today, I listened to this song all the way through. Not just the guitar and piano. Not the sharp intakes of breath. All the way through.
I was floored. I had forgotten how amazing U2 could be painting a picture, how poignant and chilling and blunt their messages could be. I couldn’t believe I’d missed this for 5 years.
The song is about firebombings in N. Ireland. Terrible, awful, heart aching things that haven’t ceased to this day.
The point is- sometimes we ignore things, especially when they’re thrust at us. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t worth the time. We ignore atrocities all the time. We want to. We can’t.
This album was thrust at us. It deserves to be listened to anyway.

I am a pretty young U2 fan, but my dad showed them to me at such a young age I still appreciate it because U2 makes masterpieces 💞

The wolves raised the littlest wolf cub to be resourceful and to understand his own nature they brought him up to know right from wrong and to remember to put your faith in your family and especially in this case the she-wolf his mother who was there for him as much as was ever in her power, and most of the time her power was great all he had to do was close his eyes and think of his wolves 🐺 and he was brave❤Garff, Diane’s little helper, young as he was he made her world a brighter place

I always skipped over this song because it "sounded weird".
A couple years later, I decided to listen to it and OH MY GOD THIS MASTERPIECE HAS BEEN ON MY PHONE THE ENTIRE TIME?!

Number 7 on the album. This sounds a lot like the old style from them. All the people  who always complain you don't like the new stuff, this should make you happy! ;-)

"I dont believe anymore" is a good hook

The song delivers a powerful message. In a world where people no longer believe in hope and politicians are self serving and to destroy the hopes of the American people.

This song and Sleep Like A Baby Tonight are my favorite U2 songs since Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own and a whole bunch of stuff on the under-rated Pop album.

Face down on a broken street
There’s a man in the corner in a pool of misery.
I’m in a white van as a red sea covers the ground
Metal crash I can’t tell what it is
But I take a look and now I’m sorry I did.
5:30 on a Friday night 33 good people cut down

I don’t believe anymore
I don’t believe anymore

Face down on a pillow of shame
There are some girls with a needle tryin to spell my name
My body’s not a canvas
My body’s now a toilet wall.

I don’t believe anymore
I don’t believe anymore

Raised by wolves
Stronger than fear
Raised by wolves
We were raised by wolves
Raised by wolves
Stronger than fear
If I open my eyes,
You disappear

Boy sees his father crushed under the weight
Of a cross in a passion where the passion is hate.
Blue mink Ford, I’m gonna detonate and you’re dead
Blood in the house,
Blood on the street
The worst things in the world are justified by belief
Registration 1385-WZ

I don’t believe anymore
I don’t believe anymore

Raised by wolves
Stronger than fear
Raised by wolves
We were raised by wolves
Raised by wolves
Stronger than fear
If I open my eyes,
You disappear

Regardless of whether this album was given away for free or not, it’s a superb album. I can’t say I’ve listened to either this or Experience more than a couple of times yet (only just bought them after putting it off for ages), but I rank this album quite highly in their catalogue and I would say for a start it’s better than ALYCLB and Songs Of Experience. They’ve done so much great music that I think I might have to go through all their albums again to get a proper feel of whereabouts this one places.
