I used to have 3 of them many years ago, 2 females and a big @$$ albino male. Yes, it's incredibly important for them to have a friend. I got one and within 3 days she was sick and we couldn't figure out why. But everything pointed to she was needing a friend. Immediately went and got her a sister from the same litter and within a day, she was better. They are super sensitive and a bit high maintenance. The girls were so playful and mischievous and Cloud, the boy, was the biggest lover. The girls were definitely crazier. Even named one Bonzai because she was going for it! My favorite thing to do would be lay down on the floor with them on their level and they would just go crazy jumping on me and doing their weasel wardancing. Because you're on their level. Super easy to teach and discipline, but you never EVER swat or pop them to punish. Simply picking them up by their scruff, look them in the eyes and sternly tell them no and that's all. And no, you CAN NOT squeeze water out of them, but they do love a hot, hot bath. They have thick skin and fur, so if it's warm to us, it's cold to them and they hate it. If it hurts you to touch the water, it's perfect for them. And they can bite hard as hell, but you teach them young and discipline properly and it's NEVER a problem when they're older. Coolest little critters ever and smart as hell! I miss them so much.

I have 3. Had 4, my first passed and is resting now. These cuties are amazing companions. They are both dog and cat like. I encourage tons of research if you are planning on getting ferrets. They can be very expensive in medical bills and are a lot of work and personally I don’t recommend them for children as two of mine were rescues from a home that the children got bored of them and couldn’t keep up with their care. But my goodness the joy they bring is tremendous. Cuddly, playful, mischievous, curious, VERY intelligent, and they truly love their people.
