I really feel for that poor kid. My father used to make me lie all the when I was a child. He was always suing people and he would make me say certain things to my teachers or doctors etc to make his lawsuit look good, it’s a long story, but it is so harmful and confusing to a kid. I was sick with worry all the time that I’d be caught and imagined myself being interrogated by a big scary judge in a court. I thought kids could go to jail for lying in my child mind. He must have been so scared when the police were questioning him and the father knew at some stage it would happen. This is abuse, plain and simple.

The Heene’s used to rent an office space out at the Henry Radio building in West LA. They were trying to launch a “production company” there amongst legitimate established production companies already in the building. I did computer work for them and they racked up a $600 bill. He originally tried to get me to accept partnership shares of a bunch of really stupid tv show ideas and books they were writing, in lieu of payment. All the ideas were based on dumb pranks trying to mimic Punk’d but nothing compelling, funny or interesting. When I rejected the partnership offer he was visibly angry and couldn’t imagine why I’d give up on a “chance of a life time” to join his stupid schemes.

Then he paid me with a bad check. When I went back to their office to settle the bad check, they were violent, rude and threatening to me then my car gas tank somehow ended up with sugar in it a day or two later. Never saw them again after that until I saw the balloon boy story on the news. The minute I heard his name, I was not surprised and told everyone I knew it was a prank. I just wish I knew how to call Denser news back then. Yeah the domestic violence stuff I’d say is true based on the verbal abuse I witnessed. He seemed to really fawn over his boys though. I get the sense that it’s only as long as they go along with his dumb schemes.

This reminds me of "Lawnchair Larry Walters" who in the early '80s floated up to 15, 000 ft in a 45 minute flight while seated in a lawn chair attached with helium balloons

Was always surprised they thought they'd get away with it. People like the Internet Historian have tried to claim that it was not a hoax, but they were very unconvincing to say the least.

can you do an analysis on the Woody Allen case? There is clear predatory behaviour, and I don't understand how there are people saying he's innocent when he MARRIED his ex's adoptive daughter. I don't care if she was legal age, that still is predatory behaviour!

The fact that their son has a conscience and didn't want to lie was their undoing. I wonder where Falcon learned morality from? It sure wasn't his parents.
