Double decker bus goes up in flames in Wimbledon

An electric double-decker bus caught fire in southwest London during rush hour on Thursday morning.

Police said emergency services were called shortly after 7am.

No injuries have been reported but people have been told to avoid the area.

Flames engulfed the back of the bus with thick grey smoke billowing out. The upper deck back windows were completely destroyed.

The bus was on its usual route from Mitcham to Raynes Park.

If anyone is interested, there have been 242 bus fires in the UK from 2019-mid 2023.

There are 2 different makes of bus in this video, The one on fire is a completely different vehicle to the one used in the second half of the video, Why did they bother with the second one ??

Scrap perfectly good busses to be replaced with electric ones.
Build electric ones costing £300k plus
Replace electric ones with more electric ones when said electric ones all go up in flames in the tightly packed bus depo.
Thats 3 for the price of 1
