Viral moment of Gus Walz cheering dad at DNC brings awareness to neurodiversity

One of the most talked about moments from the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday night was the son of vice presidential nominee Tim Walz. The emotion on his face was obvious as he listened to his dad speak Wednesday night. CBS News Chicago’s Shardaa Gray looked into how the teen is helping people understand his condition.

This was the BEST moment of the convention!!! Gus loves his dad and he is not afraid to tell the world. You can see the love that family has for each other and THAT is a beautiful thing!!

Unless you are somewhat familiar with ND you cannot understand what a massive accomplishment and demonstration of Courage for that kid to be in that thunderous Stadium filled to the brim with people. His parents did an exceptional job in helping him integrate in the society in which he lives❤❤❤ that is one awesome kid

Gus is lovely. I am inspired by his genuine love and respect of his father. If a teenager has this much sincere respect for his father, you know the father is a good man. I'm proud and excited to have someone like Walz as our next vice president.

Gus wears his heart on his sleeve. It is beautiful to see love shown without restraint and with such honesty. This young man is obviously full of love for his father. Tim is a lucky man to have family that feel that way about him and he has clearly earned that love. Anyone who can criticise this has a lack of love in their life.

I'm ND - ASD ADD Dyspraxia. Even though challenged, I was blessed with good opportunities and was able to succeed. Never count the challenged down. We push through things many cannot imagine. So glad to see this young man and look to the day we can see him proud of his Dad, as he gets sworn in.
