Mel Stride spoke to LBC's Lewis Goodall this morning about Tory plans to cut welfare spending.

Meanwhile, Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer and shadow home secretary Yvette Cooper are visiting the East of England for a campaign visit related to crackdown on antisocial behaviour.

The Liberal Democrats pledge to tackle people dying due to ambulance delays. The manifesto pledge features an upfront capital investment of £280 million to expand urgent treatment centres and A&E wards, and an additional £400 million a year to add an extra 1,000 staffed beds in hospitals.

Scotland's First Minister and SNP leader John Swinney is campaigning in Paisley today. He is calling on Labour to explain where £18 billion in cuts predicted by the IFS will come from.

Carol Vorderman looks at what we can expect from the major parties as their manifestos are set to be announced in the coming days.

There are over 1, 000 towns in the UK and the tories are saying they might give 20 million to 30 of them. All 30 miraculously in close contest seats I imagine.

1. Rejoin the EU
2. Criminalize MP’s lying. It’s illegal for the News to tell lies; MP’s should be held to the same standard.
3. Ban MP’s from being able to have 2nd jobs. Being an MP is a full time job.
4. Get rid of FPTP

Give me that and you’ll have my vote

What did Labour do for the people of the UK when they were last in power (almost all of which has been destroyed by the Cons since they have been in power). Oh, and while in power the Cons have decimated our armed forces and now want to conscript kids into the army !!!

Anyway, here are just some of the things Labour did:

14. Devolved power to the Scottish Parliament.
15. Devolved power to the Welsh Assembly.
16. Dads get paternity leave of 2 weeks for the first time.
17. NHS Direct offering free convenient patient advice.
18. Gift aid was worth £828 million to charities in a single year.
19. Restored city-wide government to London.
20. Record number of students in higher education.
21. Child benefit up 26 per cent since 1997.

23. Introduced the Equality and Human Rights Commission.
24. £200 winter fuel payment to pensioners & up to £300 for over-80s.
25. Set on course to exceed our Kyoto target for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
26. Restored devolved government to Northern Ireland.
27. Over 36, 000 more teachers in England and 274, 000 more support staff and teaching assistants.
28. All full time workers now have a right to 24 days paid holiday.
29. A million pensioners lifted out of poverty.
30. 600, 000 children lifted out of relative poverty.
31. Introduced child tax credit giving more money to parents.
32. Scrapped Section 28 and introduced Civil Partnerships.

I would like to see a law which would implement a consequence if they did not achieve at least 50 percent of the promised manifesto

Reform claim they will reduce it to 3 days, but we know they have no clue how to do that and the fact they want to use private healthcare vouchers (wonder how much that would cost) shows they just want to privatise the NHS. Especially as a lot of NHS doctors also do private work and if you increase the numbers getting private vouchers that gives the NHS less time with the doctors. Beautiful isn't it.

A manifesto is like a politician's promise, not worth the paper it's written on

I really hope (but sadly don't expect) that the media scrutinises all of the Reform policies rather than just giving them a soapbox to rant about immigration. Many of the things they have announced so far are reckless and/or clearly unfunded.

I don't want to know about "we'll bring in 10, 000 new doctors" or "we'll cut NHS waiting times" like some pie in the sky goals. I want to hear HOW the parties intend to reform the NHS back to its former glories.

If you're bringing in more doctors, how will you do it? How will they be trained and incentivised?
How do you plan on bringing down waiting times?

The fly tipping should be prison, or a suspended sentence. At the very least there should be a mandatory driving ban for 12 months just like drink driving.
