This really highlights the chasm between the long-form podcast style discourse you're usually involved with, and the short-form TV style political discourse where everyone talks over each other.

It would be extra satisfying if it also turns out that your podcast has a greater viewship than the Piers Morgan show

Trying to watch the full "debate" was painful. Morgan attempted to frame it with the sentiment of "change my mind", as if he were willing to hear external perspectives. Unfortunately, he spent most of the airtime that supposedly belonged to his two guests talking over them. This is what passes for news media now, I suppose.

Love this. Piers is awful. The only purpose of guests on his show is to give the pretence of discussion, while actually serving as a sounding board for him to bounce his own opinions off repeatedly.

Well, it is no secret that Piers loves nothing more than hearing himself talk. You knew what you were getting into. It worked out anyway. You and your colleague managed to shoot a few points across the bow. It was fun.

You'll notice that when Alex "interrupts, " he immediately stops because he didn't realize that piers still wasn't done after speaking for so long. There's a difference between thinking it's finally your turn to respond and intentionally talking over someone directly after asking them a question which took nearly a full minute to ask.
