My sympathy to the co pilot on the loss of his co worker and prayers to the pilots family. So sad. The co pilot handled it so well.

Cockpit and cabin crew are trained to deal with incapacitated pilots including cpr so i assume they would have done everything they could for him. Such a shame but he died doing what he loved

Too many elderly men flying general aviation airplanes, too. Had to convince my 78 yr old father (retired fighter pilot) with current flight physical to stop flying his former company’s TBM 850 turbo. He flew it as single pilot occasionally for quick trips (no passengers) free of charge, just to keep flying. I hadn’t flown with him in 3-4 years and was shocked how bad he was. He relied completely on autopilot and ATC had to literally repeat every radio call. His over-head visual patterns were dangerous. I told the chief pilot to never let my dad fly that airplane again. Fortunately, dad agreed to stop flying. Had I not intervened I would be responsible for the tragedy that was soon to follow.

Praise God for copilots professional ability to switch gears, in very difficult circumstances. Losing a colleague is difficult but in that situation that takes a very special and gifted person to turn that around . I pray for peace and healing for all affected by this.

Oh wow! So sad. The co-pilot handled that with complete dignity! He remained calm and strong for the passengers. So sorry for the loss if this pilot.
