In the end we all grow up and we don't always stay in the same groups of friends and/or colleagues, all our lives. Most music bands find that too. What happened happened, sad but true. It was time for them to move on. Add to that drugs, business activities, etc, etc, got in the way.

It's a miracle The Beatles stayed together as long as they did. Fame has destroyed many a lesser band after only a couple of albums. Too tempting for the big egos to go off and make solo albums. As it was, they went out on a High Note (Abbey Road) and it was better for George that they broke up. He had outgrown The Beatles.

Paul without hesitation says John broke up the band and gives the impression Yoko had a big influence on it. This was on the Howard Stern interview a few years back. I think they probably would have broken up regardless due to various reasons & creative reasons, but not as soon as they did. Would have been great to see where they would have went if Yoko hadn't been around even if it would have been one more LP.

If there hadn’t been the issues with Allan Kleins business management there would have been less of a acrimonious break up, which could have led to a break rather then a break up where they focussed on their solo work but came together to work as the Beatles intermittently. This was touched on in the Get Back film with a conversation between George and John talking about releasing George’s back log of songs as a album. The get back film also showed that the band could still get along so if you take Alan Klein out of the picture (and to be fair to Paul McCartney his suspicions about Klein were proved right) you would have less of acrimony and business arguments and bad feelings to stop the Beatles collaborating again and after an artistic break and freedom to pursue solo, careers there may have been more enthusiasm from all of them to hang together again….. but who knows ? 🤔

Mark Chapman not only killed John, but he also killed any opportunity of the Beatles ever getting back together. R.I.P. 🙏🏻

I think about if Paul was actually a replacement because of the theory that the original had died in a car crash, and could that of been a factor in the inevitable break up.

Paul said John wanted out first but Yoko Ono, in my opinion, had a huge influence on John's decision. Never cared for her. My opinion.
Regardless, they remain one of my very favorite bands. 😊

John has said they never planned on the band lasting more than a few years. But they did go out in a blaze of glory. ain't nothing wrong with abbey road or get back. but could you visualize the Beatles videos back when MTV played music?

Easy answer to a very hard question on who or what broke up The Beatles: Brian's passing.

The "True Story?"
Money.
Their contracts were so messed up, even if they produced a "Sgt. Pepper" they'd still get the short end if the stick monetarily.

So... it was John then, in addition to Brian's death? I'm not surprised. His children have said some disparaging things about him.

The Paul/John beef is parallel to the Art Garfunkel/Paul Simon beef.

Do you really think it would have lasted forever anyway?! 😮

the truth Billy was a task master, the 3 remaining Beatles were really hacks, they didn't have the talent or drive Billy had thus they broke up it had nothing to do with Yoko it was Billy the guy who's been playing Paul longer than James Paul was alive " Let it Be " without George Martin, this was a mistake as George did all the work with his studio musician. the Beatles just did the vocals which took weeks in some cases, Billy was a studio musician, whom George Martin knew, they created Sargent Peppers not the Beatles, George Harrison wasn't even around for most of Pepper's recording. fact the Beatles used 4 drummers and Ringo wasn't one of them. Bernard Purdy the most recorded drummer in history, the Beatles are no playing M-Fer's Quincy Jones, the Beatles themselves told the world, they were fabricated, (" the Fab Four ") yet as John said "their eyes are open, but they don't see.'' paraphrasing " John said we handed Phil Spector a pile of shit and he did the rest as you know if it wasn't for Billy Preston " Let it Be " would have been terrible instead of the worst album they did why no George Martin who was really the Beatles sorry folks you've been duped by entire narrative here it's all lies, the Beatles were and are Frauds a social experiment for social change look what happen to the world in the 60's the Cheatles just a brand like Coke a Cola or Walmart, to making money for the Military Industrial Complex look what EMI owns . again, you've been hoodwinked people.
