Contrary to most commentors here, imo this is very simple and easy to understand. One of the hardest parts in perspective for me is getting the sizes right, and this is such an easy way fix those errors.

I learned this in 7th grade art class. The horizon and the focal point.

If a long stretch of road extends past the horizon, then the lines that make up both sides will eventually meet, as they stretch from an angle.

Hence height measurements taken in 3D have to account for this angle.

Yea, I should start practicing more of that for sure. It gets harder for me when it has to do with the outside since buildings or trees do tend to be farther away sometimes.

love the insight of thinking first in 2D, i have a hard time thinking what's supposed to be behind or at front of something and always get stucked in the middle of the drawing, if i organize where's everything gonna be first in 2D it might help with that, thanks a ton man!

as someone who did 1 semester of art fundementals before deciding to drop it and do something else, all i can think of is the amount of time and measurments that go into 1 and 2 point perspective 3d spaces. and also that PAINFUL grid project we had to do, oh my GOSH.
