Although the season 1 kiss didn’t really seem like hint at anything it was cute. The banter on the other hand was pretty telling even if initially wasn’t meant too.

What I just realize is their conversation about Joey leaving Capeside ends up being a major factor in their relationship. Pacey even laments that he’s never getting out and Joey says don’t worry… which plays into the series finale.

This is when I unexpectedly fell in love with them. I have a special place in my heart for Joey and Dawson, though I get that's an unpopular opinion, but there was so much chemistry with these two. They dated irl for a couple of years which the show creators said was their motivation for this coupling. She called Joshua her first love ❤

2:51 - this is what i don't get. i'm currently watching season 4 and Joey gets into her dream school but doesn't get a good financial aid package. she clearly tells her guidance counselor she wished she applied to more scholarships

yet here we are in season 1, she's working super a few years later forgets her hardship and didn't apply to a bunch of scholarships?

maybe that summer trip with Pacey wasn't a great idea after all.
