Bleck and Tippi's backstory's, combined with Bleck's desire to destroy, it's so understandable, so inspirational!

I always tear up at the end.
Such a underrated game that definitely deserves credit for it's simple yet deep story, witty dialogue, and wonderful characterization. It may may not have the best in terms of gameplay, but this, to this day, is the best Paper Mario Story ever written in the franchise.

That ending has me balling my damn eyes out, a typical comment yes, but it's true. I remember playing this game but I never finished it and lost the disc, but I knew how the ending went. I love that there isn't 100% closure on what happened to Count Blumiere and Lady Timpani, but it's something you don't know but feel. Love truly can cross all dimensions (literally, that's ironic coming from Paper Mario) and it's beyond our sense of understanding, which is why I love it.

R, I.P those Koopas that were most likely killed after protecting Princess Peach. They were good soldiers, and even better people, a moment of silence, for Private Koopa and Srg.Hammer.

I have a very emotional connection to this game. Not only because of the nostalgia of returning home everyday with the excitement of playing this with my sister, but also its just so powerful. This is the greatest Mario game I have ever played, it's story is unique taking a completely different approach of other games. This game does something that very few Nintendo games have done, it managed get us to develop feelings for the character and we could always imagine our self very easily in the game during the intense moments like being chased around by Mimi around a mansion, I FELT that, it invoked actual fear in me knowing that any second the door could open and I'd get captured by such a terrifying creature. The game also takes a much darker tone than other games like entire populations and worlds being erased or the tragic story of Tippi and Count Blek. This game also had a threat of everything being absorbed by a black hole, every time you completed a world the black hole in the sky would grow even larger, this added a lot of intensity that no other Mario game has ever been able showcase. The game had so many twists in terms of the story like the Mr. L plot or Flopside. The fact that Bowser was not the primary villain and eventually becomes playable as character is great. The fact that it's not saving Peach from Bowser is great. Luigi actually having a crucial part in the story and gameplay and not being a replacement for Mario is great. And the fact that Count Blek was not even the bad guy was great. The game tried to trick you into thinking at the beginning that it was going to be the same generic plot is actually really smart. The fact that there is so many obstacles in the way like Francis makes this game even more engaging. And the worlds? DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED. Everything about the worlds are amazing, it starts from being a normal Mario world and then slowly escalating to things like a mansion, space, HELL, and then to heaven is phenomenal. I also like the quiet controversial topics it touches like mind control, forced labor, and the termination of many populations it is truely unique. The puzzles the games that involve between switching between 2D and 3D are great. This game is a work of art, it shows that the developers poured their heart and soul into the game. And all though a lot of people shit on it based how its compared to A Thousand Door or all the other Paper Mario cash grabs, I genuinely care about this tremendously. This game is probably my favorite Nintendo game, this one of the games that when I think about it I cry. I cry because of how simple everything was to me back then, but I also cry because I'm so happy that I was able to play this game and that it brought me so many good times.

I remember getting this game as a Christmas present and always stumbling through the game. I still haven’t finished it yet but this brings nostalgia to the max of sitting on the kick up foot stool, launching the Wii and hearing the glorious start up noise

I was trying to think of where my Arachnophobia came from, when I remembered this game. I had it when I was about 7, and that Mimi thing scared the crap out of me. Lmao I can’t believe she triggered a whole phobia 😂
