Started to look at my origine and at the same time my wife's for fun. I had most swedish peasants and some viking chiefs. With my wife I was shocked! She is in straight descent related to House of Oldenburg and Didrik the mild, Emperor's of Habsburg, Wettin (Windsor in England), Luxembourg and Jagellion to mention some . Now I know why I always felt like a servant:, -). I have never been interested in history, but genealogy has given perspective and context to history and dates.
